GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO
Giannis Fuels Bulls Rumors With Latest Interview
Giannis Antetokounmpo may have set Twitter ablaze with his latest interview comments! When asked by The Sports Zone if he ever thought about playing for the Bulls, Giannis gave a candid answer:
"I think anybody you ask that question that plays basketball, if he said no, he'd be a liar. It's a team that won multiple championships. It's a team with one of the greatest players—if not the greatest player to ever play this game—played for. It's a no-brainer. Everybody would love to play for Chicago. Down the line, you never know. You never know how life brings it. Maybe I'll play for Chicago, but right now I'm committed to Milwaukee."
While Bulls fans have every reason to be excited about this quote, ultimately, Bucks fans have little to fear. Giannis has always been a straight shooter, and if he says he's committed to Milwaukee, you can believe him.
NBA CHRISTMAS DAY
The NBA Christmas Day Schedule is Unofficially Released
While the entire 2022-23 NBA schedule has yet to be released, thanks to NBA Insider Shams Charania, we know the marquee Christmas Day matchups. According to Shams, the five games will be Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers, and the Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks.
The Christmas slate is one of the most important nights of the season for the NBA, and as such, they make sure to select the league’s best and most exciting players to take part. Featured among these teams will be the likes of LeBron James, Ja Morant, Steph Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and Joel Embiid.
Notably absent from these ten teams are the Brooklyn Nets. FSI analyst Nick Wright took to Twitter in the wake of the schedule release to suggest that by omitting the Nets, the NBA believes KD and Kyrie will be traded. Only time will tell, but given the Nets were on 38 national games last season, Wright could be onto something.
BRONNY JAMES
Inside Bronny James' Potential College Recruitment
We all know who Bronny James is at this point, but we’re finally starting to see what his road to the NBA might look like. After months of speculation on whether he’ll opt for the NBA straight out of high school, or maybe turn pro via the G League, it was recently reported by ESPN that “there is a strong feeling he will take the college route.”
The current college favorites are UCLA, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon, but that’s not to say those are the only teams who will make an offer. Duke recently scouted Bronny at Peach Jam, and reportedly, Memphis and head coach Penny Hardaway have checked in.
James is currently ranked the No. 43 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Assuming that his dad, LeBron, stays with the Lakers, the expectation is that UCLA or USC will win the recruitment war, but no decision is expected anytime soon.
