KEVIN DURANT
Why is Kevin Durant Meeting with Brooklyn Nets Owner Joe Tsai?
What is the plan going forward with NBA superstar Kevin Durant? There have been a flurry of rumors and reports of where the 33 year old phenom could end up but as time goes on will there be a deal or will he just stay put in Brooklyn? It is being reported by NBA reporter, Steve Bulpett, that Kevin is actually meeting with Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai. There is no intel on why Durant is meeting with the Nets owner. It could be regarding his trade request or even potentially to smooth things over with Joe. All in all the Nets do seem to have some leverage here. They have the option to ultimately keep Durant and implement him with the duo of Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving. It is going to be interesting to see reports unfold as the week goes regarding this meeting. Only time can tell just what comes out of this and the status of the relationship between the Nets and Durant.
NEW YORK KNICKS
The New York Knicks are Being Investigated for Tampering with Jalen Brunson
The Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia 76ers, and now the New York Knicks. Yes, this is a list of teams accused of tampering of late. The New York Knicks have been accused of early contact and tampering regarding their signing of FA guard Jalen Brunson. The Knicks made significant moves and trades early to free up cap space to acquire the young guard, and were able to sign him on the day free agency opened up, but was there tampering involved around this signing? Some signs may point to it. Leon Rose, New York Knicks President, was the former agent for Rick Brunson, Jalen’s father. Not only this, but Leon actually represented Jalen as well early on in his career. Furthermore, Rick was recently hired as the Knicks assistant so the speculation thickens. Because of this, the league will be launching an investigation on the Knicks for early contact with Jalen Brunson prior to the opening of NBA free agency at 6pm ET on June 30th.
JAMYCHAL GREEN
JaMychal Green 'Couldn't Say No' to the Golden State Warriors
Since the start of 2015, the Warriors have taken home 4 championships so who would say no to joining the iconic franchise? JaMychel Green didn’t want to be the one to say no and signed a one year deal worth $2.63 million fully guaranteed. Prior to joining the Warriors, JaMychal was reportedly going to join a different organization but one call in particular changed the 32 year old’s mind. Green was in Jamaica when he got a call from Steve Kerr, head coach of the Warriors. Following up with this call Green called his longtime friend and AAU teammate Draymond Green. Both of these calls played a huge part in his decision to join the Warriors. Last year with the Denver Nuggets, JaMychal struggled from the three point line at just over 26%. But he sees Golden State as a fresh start for an iconic franchise that will be in the hunt for another championship this upcoming season. The outlook for the Warriors is that they will be getting a player who isn’t afraid to do the dirty work, as he said himself. Look for JaMychal to fulfill a Draymond Green 2.0 role for the Warriors, a gritty player who will take care of things on the defensive side. JaMychal averaged 6.4 pts and 4.2 rebounds last season with the Nuggets. He now joins the Golden State Warriors following a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
