PATRICK BEVERLEY

Patrick Beverley is 'Super Excited' to Play With Russell Westbrook

While much has been made about the famous rivalry between Russell Westbrook and his new teammate Pat Beverley, things appear to be going smoother than expected. Beverley recently made his first official appearance with the team and had glowing things to say about Westbrook. When asked about his relationship and fit with Westbrook, Beverley said he’s “super excited,” and added that when asked years ago who was someone he wanted to play with that “[Westbrook] was the first name.”

Westbrook and Beverley have famously had difficulties, the worst of which was during the 2013 Playoffs when Beverley collided with Russell’s knee while attempting a steal, resulting in a torn lateral meniscus for Westbrook.

It remains to be seen if these good vibes will continue into the season but as of now, both men are doing their part to make it work. Westbrook was the only Laker teammate in attendance for Beverley’s introduction, and the two were seen laughing together.

STEPH CURRY

Steph Curry Wrote a Children's Book

Steph Curry has no shortage of incredible accomplishments in his storied career, but it appears he’s added author to his growing list of accolades. Aiming to inspire the next generation of leaders Curry has written a children’s book called “I Have a Superpower.”

Curry’s been doing a fair bit of media work lately, notably as an executive producer of the “Holey Moley” game show, but the idea of moving into books was brought about by wanting to connect and broaden his horizons, and partly inspired by his children’s love of reading.

Curry’s goal with “I Have a Superpower” is for kids “to be able to set their sights on what they want to accomplish in the world and really believe that it’s possible.”

SWIN CASH

How Hall of Famer Swin Cash is Changing NBA Front Offices

Swin Cash is a two-time NCAA champion, a three-time WNBA champion, a four-time All-Star, and now; a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2022. But nowadays, she’s best known for her rapid ascent into the world of NBA front offices.

Cash began her front office career with the WNBA’s New York Liberty while simultaneously working as an on-air analyst for Turner Sports. It was there where she met former Cavs’ GM David Griffin. The two developed a great working relationship, and Cash impressed Griffin with how she viewed the game and her ideas of unifying family and team together.

When Griffin landed his next job as the GM of the Pelicans, he wasted no time bringing Cash on board. Now in her fourth year, Cash is the highest ranking woman in the NBA as the Vice President of Basketball Operations. The next stop? Becoming the first woman to lead an NBA front office.
