Start the week off strong!

LA LAKERS

LeBron Goes OFF to Keep the Lakers Rolling

Saturday night the Lakers pulled off a tough 143-138 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. LeBron James was back to his old self as he dropped 39 points on 7 threes along with 11 rebounds. This was the Lakers fifth win in their last six games and not to mention they did it without the help from Anthony Davis who was out with a left calf contusion.

Around the 2:00 mark in the third quarter Spurs big man Zach Collins hit Russell Westbrook across the head with his right forearm while attempting to contest a shot. Westbrook got up quickly with a sizable cut on his forehead and confronted Collins before LeBron quickly pulled Russ away from the altercation. After review Collins ended up getting a flagrant 2 foul and as a result he was ejected from the game. Westbrook on the other hand was given a technical foul in which he was shocked to receive.

"I was confused on that one myself," Westbrook said. "I wasn't sure why I got one, but I'll check with the league and talk to them about it and we're figure out why that was. Once I'm bleeding all over the place I was able to calm down and take care of that and I moved forward." Westbrook contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists to the Lakers victory. James also spoke on the altercation saying, "I actually saw the cut right when it happened once he got up off the floor and wanted to, uh, wanted to do something to Zach.” Westbrook and James seemed to be in sync on Saturday for one of the first times all season, so hopefully they can keep up the momentum moving forward.

LUKA DONCIC

OG Anunoby Calls Luka Doncic the Nicest Player in the NBA

Luka Doncic has always been known for his wholesome interactions with fans and players across the league. Everytime you see a clip or picture of Luka he is smiling. Even in the midst of his incredible game winning shots there is a smile on his face. Anyone who is friends with Boban has to be a nice guy.

Recently Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby came out in a post-game interview calling Luka ‘one of the nicest guys in the league.’ Anunoby said that Luka came up to him and called him a nice guy in which he gave the compliment right back. Anunoby was born in London before moving to the states to play in Toronto. The love between Anunoby and the Toronto fans has been through the roof!

Of course this minor interaction brought speculation of whether or not Luka Doncic could end up on the Toronto Raptors at one point or another in his career. A team made up of Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, and Luka Doncic could be unstoppable. A big point guard like Luka would make the Raptors one of the biggest starting fives in the league. No question this is a stretch of a move but who knows what lies ahead for Luka Doncic’s future.

SCOTTIE PIPPEN

How Scottie Pippen Got Scammed for $3.5 Million

Even after Scottie Pippen rose to greatness with the Chicago Bulls, he was severely underpaid. Throughout his career with the Bulls Pippen made just $32.6 million total. Pippen didn’t always spend his money in the wisest ways. In the midst of his career he purchased a $4.5 million jet that ended up being faulty! The worst of them all, Pippen ended up getting scammed by a financial advisor for $3.5 million.

The financial advisor was given to Pippen while he was still playing on the Chicago Bulls. Scottie ended up giving Lunn $20 million for investment purposes. The advisor ended up borrowing money under fraudulent names before scamming Pippen out of $3.5 million. Lunn would eventually get caught and go to court with Pippen.

The judge of the fraud case ordered Lunn to serve three years in jail for stealing the money. Furthermore he was asked to pay Pippen $400,000. Not the full $3.5 million he lost but at least it is something. After another four seasons with the Blazers, Pippen made $66.5 million with them and another $11 million from Houston. Pretty impressive and well deserved considering he made just $32.6 million with the Bulls in 13 seasons.
