🏀 The Time Charles Barkley Got Sucker Punched

Joel Embiid excels in 100+ point weekend, the time Shaq sued his son, and Charles Barkley relives sucker punch on 'Inside the NBA'.
Start your day off here!
JOEL EMBIID
Joel Embiid Excels in 100+ Point Weekend

Joel Embiid might have had the greatest weekend in modern NBA history. In back-to-back games, in approximately 27 hours, Joel Embiid scored an astounding 101 points.
Embiid’s historic weekend started against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Despite tweaking his ankle and nursing a shoulder issue, Embiid scored a then-season-high 42 points, along with ten rebounds, six assists, and two blocks, after the game Embiid justifiably tried to temper expectations on his availability for Sunday's game, making what happened next even more improbable.
Embiid took on a Utah Jazz team and their elite defense and dismantled them. He scored 59 points, including 26 fourth-quarter points, while adding in eleven rebounds, eight assists, and seven blocks. It’s the most points anyone has scored this year and certainly one of the most impressive two-way performances the league has ever seen. Embiid may not have been in many of this year's MVP discussions, but he sure is now.
SHAQUILLE O'NEAL
The Time Shaq Sued his Son

Shaqir O’Neal is a redshirt sophomore at Texas Southern University, but like his dad, he’s creating wealth outside the basketball court. Recently Shaqir signed a six-figure deal with “boohooMAN” to launch a collaborative clothing line, which prompted the young man to file a trademark for his name.
Unfortunately, the trademark filing was met with a notice of opposition from Authentic Brands Group. In case you didn't know, Authentic Brands Group holds the name, image, and likeness rights to Shaquille O’Neal, who also happens to be a shareholder in the company.
Authentic Brands Group is opposing the "Shaqir O’Neal" trademark because they believe it would create confusion with the already established and profitable "Shaquille O’Neal" trademark. Thankfully this issue seems to be between the different brand management companies and not a direct battle between father and son. Regardless, most attorneys familiar with this case believe it will be settled out of court, and hopefully, no bad blood will come out of this.
CHARLES BARKLEY
Charles Barkley Relives Sucker Punch on 'Inside the NBA'

Charles Barkley is no stranger to throwing hands during his NBA playing days, but not all fights went according to plan. Case in point, a particular dust-up in 1990 between the Sixers and the Pistons.
Recently the Inside the NBA crew made Chuck watch a video of himself and Bill Laimbeer going at it which ended with a defenseless Barkley getting sucker punched on the ground by role player Scott Hastings.
But since it wouldn’t be Inside the NBA without jokes, the show actually arranged for Scott Hastings to make a video appearance where he owned up to his part and flatly said: “Did I sucker punch you? Damn right I did! And it felt good!” Everyone was in good spirits, and it sounds like all parties have moved on from the event, but it made for some must-see TV!
